“The power of art to hold the human experience is all there.
You come away knowing we are the art making species,
Homo Aestheticus.” Judith Greer Essex, PhD

A celebration of raw art by the clients of graduates and current students of San Diego’s Expressive Art Institute will be held from 5:00 to 8 p.m., Friday, November 6, in the halls of the institute, located in Point Loma at 2820 Roosevelt Road, Suite 204, San Diego (in the NTC Promenade).
The free, mixed-media show sponsored by the Institute Alumni Association incorporates the works facilitated by graduates and students of the Expressive Art Institute using Expressive Arts in Therapy, Coaching and Education.
Those organizations represented in the exhibit include: the Veterans Village of San Diego; YWCA; Monarch School; Nazarene House; Sophie’s Gallery; San Diego Youth and Community Services; Alvarado Parkway Institute (API); Healthy Within and more.

“The show reflects thousands of hours and thousands of people that institute graduates are helping,” says Judith Greer Essex, director and founder of the Expressive Arts Institute in San Diego.

For more information about the show or to arrange interviews, call 619-239-1713.

About the Expressive Arts Institute
In January, the San Diego Expressive Arts Institute will officially celebrate its 10th anniversary.
To date, more than 40 students have graduated from institute, having applied their art-therapy skills within organizations such as Veterans Village of San Diego, Monarch School, Kaiser Permanente’s weight management program, Hospice of the North Coast, San Diego Hospice, Center for Community Solutions, International Victims of Torture and others.
