LA QUE SABE WORKSHOPS - CELEBRATING THE WILD WOMAN ARCHETYPE
This workshop is based upon the power of intuition, play, and dolls as icons in cross-cultural ritual and folklore. The intent is to use writing and doll-making to explore your relationship with your instinctual nature, to allow a highly individualized representation of your “wild woman” to emerge, and to manifest a meaningful, symbolic representation of your authentic, intuitive self.
What to Expect
Lynn Dewart, an artist and visionary, shares her work and
her world of experience in creative expression as a pathway to intimate
relationship with self. Her soft sculptures and artdolls provide a doorway to encounter La
Que Sabe (the One Who Knows), the Wild Woman and other aspects of the
sacred self. They are Healers and Cantadoras, doors and windows,
avenues and pathways for healing trauma, encouraging growth and
expression, and embodying hope. She retrieves and integrates the lost,
forgotten,
discarded, stolen and unfamiliar parts of herself. Appreciating the
human condition is one of her gifts, the healing and wholeness of individuals
is her passion.
JaneE Hindman, artist, teacher, writer, brings her passion for self-reflection and exploration as well as her years of experience facilitating women's spiritual journaling groups, to guide the group through inspirational readings, meditation and writing exercises that will foster a deeper, more intimate relationship with the authentic, intuitive self.
We will create an environment that stimulates and supports the creative process, a safe place for personal expression of your fertile imagination. After a brief introduction to the ways that dolls have long provided women a doorway to healing trauma, encouraging growth and expression, and embodying hope, we will journal together in order to invite La Que Sabe (the One Who Knows) who dwells in each of us. A guided meditation will beckon images of your own "Wild Woman" intuitive self which you can then ponder, explore, discover, reveal and awaken using the vast selection of art materials and doll forms provided. You will leave refreshed by the sacredness of creating in a community of women and empowered by your own uniquely personal piece that will further your own journey.
