SACRED POWER DOLLS - A WORKSHOP ON
CREATIVITY
These workshops are based upon the power of play and the power
of dolls as icons in cross-cultural ritual and folklore. The intent is
to allow
a meaningful representation to emerge unfettered that leads to greater
relationship with the Self, that empowers growth, healing and changing
lives.
These workshops apply as well to family groups, for men and
women, and for children only.
Special rates for large groups, celebrations and gatherings available
upon request.
What to Expect
Lynn Dewart, an artist and visionary, shares her work and
her world of experience in creative expression as a pathway to intimate
relationship with self. Her soft sculptures and artdolls provide a doorway to encounter La
Que Sabe (the One Who Knows), the Wild Woman and other aspects of the
sacred self. They are Healers and Cantadoras, doors and windows,
avenues and pathways for healing trauma, encouraging growth and
expression, and embodying hope. She retrieves and integrates the lost,
forgotten,
discarded, stolen and unfamiliar parts of herself. Appreciating the
human condition is one of her gifts, the healing and wholeness of individuals
is her passion.
We will create an environment to stimulate and support the
creative process, a safe place for personal expression of the fertile
imagination.
We will play, ponder, explore, discover, reveal and awaken
through creative urges and spontaneity using a variety of art
materials and the doll forms provided.
We will manifest a meaningful, symbolic representation of
our authentic, intuitive self, creating a uniquely personal piece that
will further your own journey.

Comments
"Lynn Dewart lovingly provides the environment in which you
can make your own acquaintance. Governed by a quiet intuition, her
support of each participant is clearly unique, provoking candid
self-discovery If you commit to this workshop, you have surrendered to
enchantment.Time stands still for those who dare give shape, color, and
sensual texture to their hidden selves.
A hypnotic afternoon, truly unforgettable." - Mary Gilmer
"I really enjoyed the gentle, evolutionary process of making
my doll. Lynn provided an atmosphere where anything could happen...and
it did. My doll came alive for me after the workshop and created a
spark igniting new passion in my life. My doll became an intimate
reflection of my thoughts about creativity and was imbued with the
power to protect my creative expression." - MaryBeth Hughes,
M.A
"A sacred, creative time of sharing woman experience and
woman power with my daughters and friends working individually and yet
together to set our intentions and bring about our own empowerment." - Wendy
Evans, Chaplain, M.A. Depth Psychology
"Lynn's workshops are in a word, magical. It begins with an
invitation into her realm of powerful, sensual, sometimes even
primitive manifestations of the feminine. Lynn, a natural storyteller,
weaves a captivating tale of her journey into the unknown to rediscover
hidden parts of the psyche. A circle of sacred power dolls protects and
empowers a smaller circle of women, evoking their own manifestions of
Goddesses, inner guides and lost souls, while sharing their own
stories. It is healing and transformational, but the magic does not end
here. As each woman creates her own image with personal and symbolic
embellishments, by focusing on the energy being evoked, a shift occurs.
I can personally attest to synchronistic events occurring directly
related to the issues brought to the surface by creating this sacred
doll. Creativity and intent have an alchemic effect in the process. - Arnell
Ando, M.A., Expressive Art Therapist
"I found the goddess doll workshop to be a most effective
process for focusing and affirming my creative energy. It was a way of
dispelling doubt and negative thinking which had in the past resulted
in creative slumps. At the same time, free of those undermining
influences, I found myself with a newed faith in my art that propelled
me into one the most productive periods in a long time and made me
fearless in my journey to get my art "out there". - Diane O'Connor, Artist

This workshop is based upon the power of intuition, play, and dolls as icons in cross-cultural ritual and folklore. JaneE Hindman, artist, teacher, writer, brings her passion for self-reflection and exploration as well as her years of experience facilitating women's spiritual journaling groups, to guide the group through inspirational readings, meditation and writing exercises that will foster a deeper, more intimate relationship with the authentic, intuitive self.
We will create an environment that stimulates and supports the creative process, a safe place for personal expression of your fertile imagination. After a brief introduction to the ways that dolls have long provided women a doorway to healing trauma, encouraging growth and expression, and embodying hope, we will journal together in order to invite La Que Sabe (the One Who Knows) who dwells in each of us. A guided meditation will beckon images of your own "Wild Woman" intuitive self which you can then ponder, explore, discover, reveal and awaken using the vast selection of art materials and doll forms provided. You will leave refreshed by the sacredness of creating in a community of women and empowered by your own uniquely personal piece that will further your own journey.
